The Balance of Melodies and Harmonies

Life is a song,

with melodies and harmonies,

with sopranos, altos and tenors,

with countermelodies and chords

When in symphony,

what's created is a song so beautiful and rich,

filled with love and unity.

A song that can bring tears of joy to ones with hearts of stone and ice.

A song that arises laughter amongst those facing times of despair.

A song that gives hope to those who face the dark abyss of hopelessness,

A song that stands out like a star in the ink black sky of the night.

Each melody has a countermelody;

Each note song supported by a choir.

Note after note played and sung with

love, joy fear, anger, hope and so much more;

weaving an intricate story of birth, growth, romance, family and friendship.

A story of death, betrayal and hatred.

A story of unfathomable complexity.

And with one wrong note,

catastrophe can erupt.

The song's melody once peaceful and serene,

now chaotic and frantic,

the harmonies sorrowful and discordant.

As the song struggles to find peace amongst its harmonies;

A new story is woven;

One of equality and companionship.

One of serenity and unity.

One of balance.
