The Test of Trust and Time

When the friendships break and we cry for their sake,
When the lies explode and your world implodes,
When the once strong bonds cease to be maintained,
and your surroundings crumble as you realise the real and the fake.

When the lies of the past haunt us,
and we fear the truth like never before.
When we feel hurt and vulnerable
and we shut the once open door.

When we struggle to move on,
trapped in the toxic cycle of our mind.
When we replay each memory,
each time, feeling more resigned.

As the seams come undone,
And the lies unravel.
As betrayal is felt,
Like never before.

As time passes by and we learn to forgive;
As time passes by and we mend the seams ;
We realise that the friendships
That withstood the test of time,
The test of love and hate,
The test of trust and betrayal,
Are the truest friendships of all.
